Tonight I am posting this private YouTube video of another song I’ve done.
This one is called “Rolling Hills” and I think it’s a weird song.
It’s not weird because it’s “weird” it’s weird because the whole premiss of it was to be a “car montage” song. It’s a pretty forgettable song I suppose and definitely not as inspired as my other solo stuff…and no where near SPG quality…but I really wanted to make this song. It was gnawing at my brain and I had to record it.
Now that I know I can create a stupid song like this I’ve had no desires to make more like it. I’ve gotten nothing but negative feedback from most of the other members of SPG for it so I am pretty embarrassed about it….
But part of “being and artist” or “pretending to be an artist”, whichever category you may fit me into, is to be able to express yourself through your art. This song is totally a part of me. It’s just not the cool part like “Automatonic Electronic Harmonics” or the epic story part like “Rex Marksley” :/.
It’s the part that sits and watches a car drive on a back country road after a big argument with the lead characters finally saying sorry and continuing their travels in said car.

some songs resonate “epic and so cool” and others are just straight from the heart. sometimes you just gotta let loose, you feel? it’s always good to hear some non-related SPG stuff from time to time. :]
